The Story Behind Our Favorite Chocolate

The story of Ecuadorian Chocolate really begins with the Podvin family and our long-time connection to Quito, Ecuador. After being away for a few years, Kevin and Linda finally made a trip back to visit family — a simple, heartfelt visit that ended up changing everything.

While staying at a small local resort, they struck up a casual conversation with the owner of KAMM Chocolates. You know those moments when you meet someone and it just clicks? That’s exactly what happened. One friendly chat turned into a genuine friendship, and before long, we were offered something we never expected: the opportunity to become the exclusive U.S. distributor for KAMM Chocolates.

From there, our family began traveling around Ecuador, experiencing the entire tree-to-bar journey firsthand. We walked through cacao groves filled with trees that are more than a century old. We watched farmers treat each fruit with an incredible amount of care and intention. Seeing how deeply the process is respected — from the soil to the final bar — made us appreciate Ecuadorian chocolate on a whole new level.

And honestly? This isn’t just chocolate to us anymore.
It’s a craft, a culture, and a connection we’re grateful to share.

It’s vegan, organic, has zero added sugar, and is made with absolutely no shortcuts. But even more than that, it’s something that brings people together — families, cultures, and generations.
